I put “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished,” by Lao Tzu in first place, because I like it the best. I think we hurry too much. We haven’t got much time for friends and for things we really like. Sometimes I would like to have an afternoon without any obligations, like school work or chores.
I liked “Pure water is the world's first and foremost medicine,” a Slovakian proverb. I like it because I think that clean, drinkable water is very important for my health. I’m happy because I’m able to drink water out of the tab. I don’t have to buy it.
“In one drop of water are found all the secrets of the oceans,” a proverb by Kahlil Gibran, is my favourite . There are five great oceans on Earth and 113 seas. Oceans represent 72% of the surface of the globe. The oceans and seas have changed lives. Water is part of who we are. Humans have always showed an intense relationship with the oceans. We are in love with the ocean since the beginning of time.
“Rivers are roads which move, and which carry us whither we desire to go,” a proverb by Blaise Pascal, is one of my favorites. No matter how much we want things to stay the same, life is all about change. But no matter why things are changing, we need to be able to let go and move on.
“Filthy water cannot be washed” is an African proverb. The people of Africa still use this proverb today. Some people still walk many miles a day to collect water for their families. The sadder part is that this water is not even clean and it could be killing children.
“I believe that water is the only drink for a wise man” is a proverb I like a lot. Our body loses fluids throughout the day just performing its daily functions. Drinking water is important and helps you staying healthy. Drinking water improves concentration. Staying well hydrated is good for skin. Water helps to flush toxins from your kidneys.
“We never know the worth of water until the well is dry.” People are not grateful for what we have until we lose it. It means that until we run out of water, we will not think of water as an essential.
“Man’s heart away from nature becomes hard” is one of my favorite proverbs. There are many reasons why connecting with the Earth is good for you. Perhaps the most obvious explanation is that it is simply natural. It is easy to forget where we have come from and what our bodies are adapted to. So put your bare feet on the ground and reconnect, or find something similar that works for you. Your body will thank you for it.
