Read about the wedding tea ceremony, an important Chinese tradition, and fill in the missing family members. Choose from the list below.

sister, aunts, groom, mother, family members, bride, father, grandmother, cousins, daughter

In the Chinese wedding, the bride formally meets the groom's family at the tea ceremony. She has to stand to the right of the groom facing the father of the family while the mother faces the groom. The bride serves the tea first to the groom's father , then his mother, followed by his grandfather and grandmother , uncles, aunts , elder siblings and finally elder cousins . She is assisted by the groom's sister or a relative. Traditionally, the married couple is supposed to kneel while serving tea but modern couples only bow during the ceremony. By bowing, they greet the elder family_members . The bride keeps the tea set and will pass it on to her daughter when she gets married.
After the tea, the bride and groom receive gifts that are brought on a serving plate. They are red packets filled with money or gold jewellery. The bride puts on all the jewellery she has received.
