Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way
Most of the bad habits discussed here are not life-threatening, but they don’t do anything good for you either. Ask yourself why you do it in the first place, what benefits it brings to you, and if you have no proper answers (or even if you manage to think of something reasonable), make a decision and reverse these habits today, not tomorrow, on Monday, or on January 1st. It’s true when they say "Where there is a will, there is a way."
1. People, especially the young, wear headphones for long hours throughout the day. It’s a way of passing the time while doing something colourless, but doctors warn that it can cause hearing loss. The culprit is the volume at which people listen to music over earphones.
2. A grown person should sleep 6 to 8 hours a night, but we’ve all burnt the midnight oil before an important exam or a life-and-death presentation for work. A short night’s sleep makes you feel drowsy and vexing during the daytime and weakens your immune system in the long term.
3. We are social beings, so don’t detach yourself from people, and don’t hide in your secret corner feeling lonely and forgotten by the world. Accept an invitation and mingle with people. This is going to keep your mind fresh, you'll loosen up, and find people and ideas worth living for.
4. The easiest thing to do after a long day is to take a remote control and surf the 278 TV channels. It’s OK if you do it now and then, but don’t turn it into a habit. Don’t let the TV set glue you to your couch unless you feel indifferent to your future obesity problems, high blood sugar, and fat level and other diseases brought by an inactive lifestyle.
