CAN DO STATEMENTS

You feel confident about your reading comprehension and are ready to move on. You can stop for a moment and reflect on your score. What's the reason you evaluated your reading comprehension so well? If the reason is you did all the reading tasks carefully, then this is the strategy to use. If your score is high because you read a lot in English, keep doing this. There is a wealth of good literature and internet sources on the topics of sports, new ways of communication and life skills.

You feel your reading comprehension is fairly good. You can relax a bit if you like, or you can go over the texts in this set and read them again. This will help you notice the words and language structures you perhaps overlooked the first time. You can also google for different texts and news articles about sports, new ways of communication and life skills. You can learn interesting things about issues related to them, and at the same time practise reading. Or find an interesting English book on the topic and read a little bit every day.

You are aware of your weak reading comprehension. You can do a number of things to improve it. Read again all the texts and do the related activities in these 4 units. Pick an interesting English book and do a little reading every day. You will notice that some words are constantly repeated. Get used to using a dictionary for unknown words. You will start noticing different language structures and become comfortable with reading them.

If you did the units in this block carelessly and hastily, perhaps you can do them again and this time practise reading and pronouncing words aloud. If you have little chance to actually speak English with someone, simply ask a schoolmate, friend or family member to speak English with you. You will be surprised how quickly your spoken English can get better.
