ACROSS THE OCEAN

When people move from one place, country, or region to another, it is called migration. France Bevk’s tale Lukec and His Starling deals with family migration. Complete the summary with the missing expressions of place.

The story of Lukec is set at the beginning of the 20th century, at the time when many families moved to America in search of a better life. Lukec, a boy from the_Vipava_valley , travels with his mother across the_ocean to Argentina to stay with his father who migrated from his_home_country to work abroad and provide for his family. The journey takes Lukec to ports of Italy, France and Portugal. On the way, Lukec, accompanied by his pet starling, has many adventures from getting lost in Genoa to discovering a stowaway on the_ship . Apart from adventure, Lukec experiences also a tragic loss - the passing away of his mother. In Argentina , he is reunited with his father and their plan is to return to their_home in a few years.

Charlie Chaplin was born on April 16, 1889, in London.
Charlie first started acting at the age of 20.
One of his first classics, the film The Tramp, was made in 1945 in the USA.
By 1915, Chaplin had already become a big film star and a wealthy man.
In the 1930s and 1940s, he created many brilliant films such as The Kid, The Gold Rush, The Circus, City Lights, Modern Times and The Great Dictator.
He married and divorced three times between 1899 and 1916.
He married his fourth wife, Oona O'Neil, in 1943 and had eight children.
Chaplin moved to Switzerland in 1952 for political reasons and did not visit the United States until 1972, when he was awarded an Oscar.
He passed away in 1977 surrounded by his family.
